Ecological and environmental conditions correlate with flea population within human habitations in a plague focus, Mbulu district, Tanzania.

Some places in Africa still have problems with the plague, which is carried by fleas. In a study in Tanzania, researchers found that certain fleas, like Xenopsylla brasilliensis, live in both homes and on rodents. They suggest teaching people about hygiene and flea control to help stop the spread of the disease.

Evaluating InferVision's Computer-Aided Detection (CAD) algorithm for Tuberculosis (TB) screening, Lusaka, Zambia.

This study checked how well a tool called InferRead DR Chest works to find tuberculosis (TB) in people in Zambia who might also have HIV. They looked at chest X-ray pictures of nearly 2,000 people and found that InferRead DR Chest did a pretty good job, but it still needs more testing and training to work even better.
